Lash Love 101

A quick refresher on caring for your falsies

How to get the most use out of your False Eyelashes:

Want to learn how to get the most out of your favourite pair of lashes? Then you best keep reading.

We’ve all witnessed friends get home from a night out, peel off a perfectly good pair of falsies and whip them into the bin. Well, we’re here to tell you that that behaviour does not fly with us. We’re so adamant that you can get multiple wears out of one pair of lashes (like, we’re talking five, six, seven wears) that we decided to whip up a post in order to teach you a few tricks of the trade!

The most important thing to remember is that lashes are super delicate. You do not want to wreck a perfectly decent pair because you’ve been too rough. So, whether you’re popping them on, taking them off, or giving them a good clean, remember: the gentler the better. When you’re removing your lashes don’t forget to always hold onto your lash at the base, be firm but don’t go OTT.

When it comes to cleaning, there are a few ways you can go about it (we have a whole blog dedicated to that right here).

 Here are the three most important things to remember;

  1. Similar to what we mentioned above, when you’re peeling away glue residue from the lash band remember to hold your lashes firmly by the base. (Be careful not to yank too hard because you don’t want to pull out individual hairs). Pro tip: Sometimes it’s easier to remove the glue by actually rolling it between your thumb and forefinger.
  2. Now, time to clean. If you like to blend your falsies in with your natural lashes by using mascara, or run over your lash band with eyeliner then this step is super important for you. All you need is a couple of cotton swabs and some makeup remover. Place your lashes on a clean, flat surface, lightly hold down the lash band and gently swipe the makeup remover soaked swabs from band to tip. (We don’t recommend you soak your lashes because they can lose their curl – but if you want to, you can always re-curl later with a warm eyelash curler).
  3. Storage. Now your lashes are clean, you don’t want to throw them into your makeup bag willy-nilly. We actually specially designed our lash packs for storage – just line the lash band with the half-band tray and pop on the plastic top.
