Get that perfect makeup shot! This is our list of the best iPhone and Android photo editing apps for 2018.
You’ve gone to town on your face, you have beat it to hell and back and you are looking GOOD if you do say so yourself! You grab your phone to take a pic of this other-worldly goodness that has taken residence upon your face, but lo-and-behold that snap doesn’t do it justice! To the editing apps we go!
Ok, maybe your run-ins with less than perfect makeup pics – or any pics for that matter – isn’t quite this dramatic, but still. There’s nothing worse than looking bomb and taking a pic and having it come out “bleh”. Never fear, we are here to pull you from this snap-slump and help you take your Instagram game to the next level! Here are five apps that we think are top notch for getting that perfect pic.
(Just a heads up, we are not affiliated or being paid or anything else with these apps – they’re just genuinely the apps we like to use!)
I mean, duh. This was bound to be on our list, it smooth wrinkles, evens skin tone, minimizes pores and more. The only downside is it’s not free, it’ll set you back $3.99 but if you’re into picture perfect snaps, then this is the way to go.
A free app with over 100 million users that pretty much does it all – I mean, what more can you ask for. From minimising blemishes to frames and backgrounds this does everything you need – and more!
A favourite of many Instagrammers and influencers worldwide, VSCO Cam allows to create and edit images with pre-set filters and advanced editing controls. The basic version of this app is free, however you can pay to access additional features. You can also publish images and attract people to your VSCO profile, or explore content from people you follow, which is an added bonus!
Not only can this app add super fun text and effects to your photos, it can also improve the actual photo itself. If you upgrade to PicLab HD you will have access to HD features such as lighting and film effects, preset filters and tools to fine-tune the basics; brightness, contrast, exposure and saturation. That said, the free version is pretty great as-is!
5. WhenToPost (iPhone | Android Alternative)
Ok, this isn’t an editing app as such but it will enhance your Instagram game. WhenToPost is a free, Instagram-specific app that helps to take the guesswork out of your posting time. It actually generates a heat map which tells you the best times to post your instagram content and shows a graph with the best time of the week to post – I mean, who doesn’t love an algorithm!
For our Android friends, there is Best Upload Time for Instagram (which is a heck-of-a-mouthful for an app name!) but works just as well as WhenToPost!
With the tagline “just like the year 1998” this is a new found favourite for the SocialEyes crew. A play on “Fuji” AKA FujiFilm, this is an app that gives your photos a film-esque look to them. We know, we know, first everyone said film cameras weren’t good enough, and here we are, incorporating the beloved medium into our 21st Century selfies – wild right! This app is free, but if you want to import photos from your camera roll you pay a one-off fee of $1.99.
That’s all we’ve got for now! We edit heaps of photos on the go, so this list of the best iPhone and Android photo editing Apps of 2018 is the best that we’ve found online to date.
